Project Description
Death is only the beginning. Bound Spirit is a 2D mystery puzzle RPG made in Unity where you awaken as a newly departed ghost with one problem: you don’t remember how you died. To uncover the truth, you drift through cozy but eerie environments, peek into the lives of the living, and piece together clues hidden in puzzles, conversations, and forgotten objects.
As you explore, you’ll encounter puzzles inspired by real cybersecurity concepts: things like cracking old passwords, bypassing quirky authentication systems, and uncovering digital traces left behind. They’re woven naturally into the story, turning everyday tech mysteries into sleuthing moments. As you uncover the story of your past life, you’ll also influence the lives of the characters you meet, nudging them toward closure, conflict, or unexpected revelations.
Your choices shape the narrative, leading to multiple endings that reveal different sides of your past. Will you uncover the truth, find peace, or discover something far stranger? Every discovery brings you closer to understanding not just how you died, but who you were… and who you might become in the afterlife.

Project Progress
Solid progress has been made over the past semester in polishing core systems and functions, refining narrative direction, and integrating it into gameplay. We've also finalized most of the map designs and continued developing puzzles as the game proceeds closer to a complete state.
